Ahmed Whitt, Founder & Chief Strategist
Dr. Ahmed Whitt is a recognized leader in the field of impact science, specializing in advanced research methodologies to tackle wealth inequality and promote economic empowerment. As the founder and Chief Strategist of Recover Fund, Dr. Whitt oversees the organization’s research and consulting initiatives, driving evidence-based solutions that enhance economic opportunities and build political power, particularly for Black Americans in urban environments.
With a robust academic background, Dr. Whitt has served in esteemed academic and research positions across multiple universities, contributing to the advancement of social sciences through his work. His scholarly contributions include numerous peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters that focus on social equity, economic development, and statistical methodology.
Dr. Whitt holds a BA and MSW from the University of Pennsylvania and earned his Ph.D. in Social Work with a specialization in Geographic Information Sciences from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. His deep commitment to rigorous research and his innovative approach to addressing systemic inequities make him a thought leader in the field.
Originally from Philadelphia and a proud supporter of all things Philly, Dr. Whitt now resides in Washington, DC, with his wife and growing family.
Timothy Goler, Senior Project Director
Dr. Timothy Goler is Recover Fund's lead project director. Tim is a nationally recognized leader in education, urban planning, community development, who has held academic and leadership positions in multiple universities and national social enterprises. After his service in the United States Marine Corps, Dr. Goler earned degrees from Norfolk State University, Cleveland State University and Case Western Reserve University.
